Vikarna, one of Dhritarashtra’s sons, is remembered as the lone Kaurava who protested Draupadi’s humiliation during the dice game, recognizing it as adharma. Despite his moral voice, he remained loyal to Duryodhana and fought on the Kaurava side in the war. On the battlefield, he faced Bhima, who mourned killing him, acknowledging his virtue even as he slew him. Vikarna symbolizes the tragedy of moral conflict—knowing the right path but bound by loyalty to perish with the wrong cause.
