Yudhishthira faces Dushasana and defeats him in the clash.
On the sixteenth day of the Kurukshetra War, Yudhishthira, the eldest Pandava, confronted Dushasana, the second son of Dhritarashtra and one of Duryodhana’s most ruthless brothers. The encounter carried deep personal significance—Dushasana had once humiliated Draupadi in the Kaurava court, and Yudhishthira bore the memory of that insult heavily upon his heart.
When Dushasana rode forth, taunting the Pandavas and boasting of his earlier deeds, Yudhishthira responded with calm fury. Mounting his chariot, guided by the righteous fire of dharma, he invoked his divine weapons and engaged his foe. Their chariots collided with thunderous force, and a rain of arrows filled the sky. Dushasana fought fiercely, using his mace and bow with skill inherited from his gurus, but Yudhishthira’s precision and divine composure gradually overpowered him.
Struck by Yudhishthira’s arrows and unable to withstand his relentless assault, Dushasana’s defenses collapsed. In a final exchange, Yudhishthira shattered his chariot and cast him to the ground, defeating him in combat. Though he had every reason for vengeance, Yudhishthira restrained his wrath and spared Dushasana’s life , as Bheema had sworn to kill him, upholding the principles of dharma even amidst war.
