Ashwatthama

Ashwatthama, son of Dronacharya, was a formidable warrior blessed with immortality by Lord Shiva through the jewel on his forehead. Fiercely loyal to Duryodhana, he fought valiantly for the Kauravas. Known for his mastery of celestial weapons, his anger and pride often led to reckless choices. After Drona’s death, Ashwatthama became consumed by vengeance. In a night raid, he slaughtered the sons of the Pandavas, mistaking them for the brothers themselves, committing one of the war’s greatest atrocities. Later, he unleashed the Narayanastra and, in desperation, the Brahmashira weapon, countered only by Arjuna. Cursed for his cruelty, Ashwatthama was condemned to wander the earth eternally, embodying the consequences of wrath unchecked by dharma.
