Krishna, the eighth son of Vasudeva and Devaki, is one of the most revered figures in Hinduism, regarded as the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. Born to end the tyranny of Kansa, Krishna was secretly transported to Gokula, where he was raised by Nanda and Yashoda. From a young age, he displayed powers, performing miraculous feats such as lifting the Govardhan Hill, subduing demons and charming all. As a youth, he became a symbol of love, wisdom and playful mischief, especially through his interactions with the Gopis. In adulthood, Krishna played a decisive role in the Mahābhārata, serving as Arjuna charioteer and guiding him through the moral and philosophical dilemmas of the Kurukshetra War. His discourse in the Bhagavad Gita remains a cornerstone of dharma and spiritual wisdom. Krishna was also a skilled warrior and strategist, slaying Kansa and leading the Yadavas to prosperity. His life exemplifies the balance of devotion, righteousness, courage, and compassion. Revered as both divine and human, Krishna’s legacy continues to inspire devotion, valor, and adherence to dharma across generations.
