Madri

Madri, princess of Madra and second wife of Pandu, was mother to the twins Nakula and Sahadeva, born of the Ashwini Kumaras. Known for her beauty and devotion, she accompanied Pandu into the forest during his renunciation. When Pandu died from his fatal curse, Madri blamed herself and chose to commit sati, entrusting her sons to Kunti’s care. Though her role was brief, Madri is remembered for her sacrifice, dignity, and as the mother of two Pandavas who embodied humility and wisdom.
