Vidura

Vidura, the wise and just prime minister of Hastinapura, was the son of Vyasa and a maidservant, making him half-brother to Dhritarashtra and Pandu. Known for his righteousness, wisdom, and devotion to dharma, he often acted as the moral compass of the Kuru court. Vidura consistently counseled peace and warned Dhritarashtra against Duryodhana’s schemes, particularly during the dice game and Draupadi’s humiliation. Though loyal to the throne, he refused to support injustice, eventually withdrawing from the Kaurava court. In the Udyoga Parva, his counsel echoed Krishna’s divine wisdom. Later, he renounced politics and lived as an ascetic, attaining liberation. Vidura symbolizes integrity, restraint, and the voice of conscience amid the chaos of ambition and greed.
